      The Newport Jazz Festival is easily the most legendary gathering of jazz musicians in the world. Since its inaugural year in 1954 -- which featured a performance by Billie Holliday -- this jazz festival has featured the biggest names in jazz and produced iconic live recordings. While the face of the event has changed over the years, the spirit of quintessential jazz music has always been alive and kicking in Newport.

      Held in beautiful Fort Adams State Park, audiences are treated to three days of music, food, and unparalleled culture on Newport's scenic waterfront. Whether you're a fan of traditional jazz, or enjoy the numerous genres inspired by jazz, the Newport Folk Festival is the place to be this summer.
